Authentic Belly Dance Learn the basic techniques in this introductory course.  

Shimmy! Shimmy!  Electrifying , energetic, and entertaining!... Fast-paced fun...The authentic shimmy is the dynamic part of the dance that has exceptional body toning properties.  It takes control, isolation, and technique.  We will perfect these fast hip movements and combinations. We’ll even add them to kashlamar, tchiftetelli, and drum solos.

The exercise benefits are built into the energizing steps themselves.  The shimmies can firm and tone your body-especially your waist, abdomen, hips and thighs. They can aid in weight loss; and develop poise, balance, stamina, and physical strength.

Continuing Authentic Belly Dance  Developing speed and expression / more intricate dance and body movements, work with a skirt and veil, and facial expressions to coordinate with the various moods of the dances. Introduction to Zills (finger cymbals) / Transitions, improvisation,  / Tchftetelli / Taxim / Kashalamar /

Learning how to Belly Dance is even more fun when you learn with your friends!  Take a 4 week session together!

Attire:  wear form-fitting clothes such as leotard, bike shorts, or yoga clothes;  and bring along a scarf or chain belt  to tie around your hips/ Dance shoes, socks or footed tights
